You've brought up some good questions.

Yeah, I am concerned about this. I wouldn't say euphoriant--but great relief. Pdoc says the 'high' effect is blunted on the xr.
And I've been resorting to my regular emergency xanax too much lately.

Yes, I feel it has a depressive effect as well.

That's up for discussion. I assumed one for the other all in one day? But I don't know...
