200mg is the dosage that is most often arrived at when using Lamictal to treat depression. Some people need to go higher. When I go above 200mg, the impaired short term memory and cognitive dulling become prominent and force me to remain at the lower dosage. I had been at 300mg for many months hoping these side effects would dissipate and that I would glean a more robust antidepressant effect. Neither occurred, so I am now taking 200mg. Some people suffer no cognitive side effects at all.

I would encourage you to experiment with your dosage of Lamictal and target 200mg. You can always go higher if necessary.
