Ok, I started taking Seroquel at a much higher dose than I have been (100 mg); up to that point I had only been on 50 mgs.
For the first few days, it worked wonderfully, no probs sleeping and much reduced daytime drowsiness at work than when I had been on Xanax (which didn't work all that well for the anxiety either -- I've never had much luck with any of the benzos).
But now, it's close to 1:42 am in the morning and I can't sleep (I'm up typing the message)!! So why isn't the Seroquel working anymore? And after just one week!?! Just a few days ago, I felt the anxiety diminished greatly, and I slept like a baby for almost the entire night.
What gives? I have an appointment with my p-doc on the 25th Aug, so have to wait until then to talk with him.
I'm just wondering if diarrhea could be the cause of this reaction. Could the diarrhea I've had for the last couple of days have anything to do with it? (I'm thinking b/c it could have caused the med to be eliminated from my system).
I realize there are no easy answers, esp when trying to dispense advice to a complete stranger.
But seriously, the diarrhea is the only reason I can think of. Any ideas?
