> ZanaI'm really not sure what is behind the theory why the combination should work. Both drugs do different things, so perhaps they are complimentary. Pristiq inhibits the reuptake of both 5-HT and NE. Remeron might act synergistically to enhance NE neurotransmission through its ability to antagonize presynaptic NE alpha-2 autoreceptors. Remeron also facilitates dopamine activity downstream (fronto-cortical) by blocking 5-HT2c receptors.
If it is necessary, you can go higher with the Remeron. The label says you can go up to 45mg, but I have seen plenty of people go to 60mg and 75mg.
