I have tried Elavil and some of the older ADs, but they actually cause me pain and urine retention (even at tiny doses). I love the SSRIs and SNRIs, but that direct hit on my serotonin causes me huge bladder pain.
So far I have upped my Abilify to 2mgs, and I will probably go up to 2.5mg. I'm not sure I can up it to 5mg.
But even so, like you said, I think these are still pretty low doses of anti-psych meds.
I asked my docs PA if it was bad for me to take both of these at the same time and she said no.
