I believe so.

I think there was a study by Dr. Manjii which suggested that even with low doses increased BCL-2 levels significantly. Not sure about BDNF or the neurotrophic capacity.

He recomends that even people who do not "respond" to lithium to take low doses longer term in hopes that it may reduce or reverse disease progression.
