Actually for me Zyprexa was less, unfortunately it -possibly- caused Tardive Dystonia (not Dyskinesia)... although it was hard to say whether the weight loss was a switch of meds and deep depression.Seroquel -- yes, I have gained a substantial amount of weight which I am attempting to fight off. Its very difficult, but I have to also monitor what I intake.
I would agree that the medicine plays an unknown % in actually causing weight gain directly, but benign lack (and no blame here, I have done it a lot) of food intake greatly contributes -- carbohydrates, etc.
Having a very strict diet, which I know personally is very difficult, along with some moderate exercise may (hopefully) put off some of the pounds.
I can't say it will put off all of it but some is better than none.
For me it is whether the benefits outweigh the risks, and the benefits, though unfortunately diminished over time for unknown reasons, are still palpable.
I know what anxiety and breakthrough symptoms have happened in the past without the Seroquel.
And I'm sensitive to neuroleptics so higher up the strength chain of atypicals produces akathisia, and can be big time besides aggravating what neurological issues have accrued from iatrogenic causes.
