I'm meeting with a new PDoc for an evaluation next week. His son used to be one of my doctors and was so phenomenal, unlike any other doctor I've known, that it was a good enough reason to call his father.
He said he may not be the best for more complex psychopharmacology, but said he knows one that is and would find a good doctor for me if need be. I then explained my situation more and told him the meds I am taking, so at least I know the medications I take weren't the reason he said that.
He said to come in for an evaluation and to talk about it and that we'd figure something out.
Does insurance normally pay for all the visits if you doctor shop? My new insurance doesn't require a referral or anything like that, but I have 2 PDoc appointments--both initial visits-within a week, and may have more until I find the right doctor. I'm not settling for just any doctor after what I've been through. Do they normally cover multiple visits w/in short time periods? I forgot to call and ask them.
