I didn't mean to suggest that it can't be done, but I've had two doctors who say they can't call in Xanax prescriptions and, in fact, can't provide for refills on the prescription.

Now, whether they "can't" or just "won't" is probably the real question. I know my current doctor is very cautious about monitoring my meds, and basically renews most of my prescriptions at each visit. In a way, I appreciate his approach because I rarely miss an appointment.

If you can't pick your meds up because you're going to be away, why don't you see if the pharmacy will contact one of its stores wherever you will be and have it filled there?
