Just like prescription drugs, I imagine that each suggestion will not be a panacea, but you never know. It is easy to give into the temptation of using one's own experience with a particular treatment to suggest it as a generalizable phenomenon. I still do it sometimes. I think it helps to regard the word "depression" as representing a great many conditions.
