Well, I took one the other night and it didn't seem to do anything to put me to sleep. So then I took a Lunesta and did fall asleep. And stayed asleep for about ten hours, and had a hard time getting up. But I didn't really experience a hangover. Just fatigue and yawning for the rest of the day. So it worked in that sense.
I haven't tried it again. I am wondering if I need it if my main problem is falling asleep, because it didn't seem to induce that. When the Lunesta works, it keeps me asleep for 7-8 hours.
On the other hand, I've been experiencing so much stress lately that I have a couple drinks and a Xanax at night too. My pdoc did not like the sound of that, and that's why she gave me the Restoril.
Right now I'm sleeping fine, but I am going to have to experiment a little more to figure out what I need and what I don't. The drinking definitely complicates things. I have just gotten in the habit of taking something, then if that doesn't work take something else, if that doesn't work start drinking, etc, until I put myself out. I always sleep, but I don't have one reliable thing that does it, as far as I can tell. I agree with my pdoc that removing the alcohol piece is important, but it always seems to be a necessary ingredient.
