It doesn't seem it is the "last word".
Even some medications on my unnamed insurance have to be PA'd because of whatever annoyance they want to place on things.
Seroquel, Seroquel XR, Skelaxin, etc.... of course insurance doesn't want to pay for new-er drugs.
Not that XR did much for me.
But I still need Seroquel, which will go generic 2011-2012, not something I'd actually like to hear -- normally I don't mind generics but generic APs when I am so sensitive to them is, well another topic beyond this.
If its something they don't like, they charge near or equal to the highest amount, which is pretty hefty.
Same as the paucity of medications that are available for 'mental health' at Walmart for cheap, e.g. Really old ones. I mean, Haldol ?
But at least here or with my insurance, once you get a PA, its good for a year.
Mental health parity.... its a joke.... and while I approve of social medicine in other countries like Canada and the UK.. older medications are 'approved' more in the UK than current ones, even ones that have left the FDA list in the US.
Let's hope that with the new administration, even though we're facing half a dozen issues, can help health care, especially a real honest parity.-- tidings
