Hi MW,
The pain reminds of when I was taking Selegiline (Eldepryl - also a MAOI). Especially during the first few weeks I got a nasty pain in my shoulders/upper back. It passed in time.
Maybe you should lower the dose - or build up more gradually?
I wish you well!
Maria> I started taking parnate again (after about 1.5 years on Nardil and Marplan) several weeks ago and have been bumping up my dose with a target of 70mg, which is what worked best for me before.

> As I reported in a post last week, I am experiencing side effects from Parnate that are pretty much the exact opposite of what they were when I last took the drug (major fatigue and lots of sleep now vs. major insomnia before; zero libido now vs. major libido increase before, etc).

> I had worked my way up to 50mg and decided to bump up to 60mg today. Well, about 5 minutes after taking my 60mg dose this morning, I got a TERRIBLE pain in my mid-back and a bit in my stomach too. This pain was intense! I had to take vicodin to deal with it and it finally subsided after ½ hour or so
