I've read (not in depth) that long-term use can cause a horrible withdrawal. That same site compared it to the withdrawal seen with benzodiazepines. So I'm guessing they were wrong with that statement and there are no withdrawal symptoms upon discontinuation or they do not know (though info is widespread on this subject) anything about benzo withdrawal. The word "serious" (referring to "gabapentin withdrawal") was thrown in there though, thus implying benzo withdrawal must be serious. I hit the red x on the top right of my browser, with force, as I was beginning to feel stupider each word I read.
