Sometimes benzodiazepines cause that and coming off them the reverse, its hard to say.
But, yes, fiber basically. If you don't like taking bran or eating high fiber cereals and salad, there's always the overpriced but not as harsh Citrucel (basically citrus waste fibers OTC).
I would not go the route of laxatives more than really occasionally if it gets bad because they just get your system very very used to them. Fiber is the doctor recommended way, and oat bran and Citrucel are a bit less harsh than wheat bran, but its up to you. Flax also can help but its rather harsh.There are plenty of popular cereals out there that you can read the nutrition information for reasonable carbohydrates and good fiber.
