1. No, I don't believe that there is necessarily a cross-tolerance between MAOIs. People very often respond well to one MAOI after failing treatment with another. I originally felt very well after Parnate pooped-out by going to Nardil. The reason that Marplan was brought back to market after its discontinuation is because so many people responded to this MAOI whom had failed treatment with the others. Patients and doctors alike lobbied for this to happen.

2. I agree with DesolationRower. There is no such thing as close supervision for the occurence of a paroxsysmal stroke.
