> After 8 years of 900mg then 600 mg then 500mg then 450mg, I have most of the major side effects. My kneck is unbearably stiff, my shoulders are tight, my chlorestoral is high and I have hypothroid. I also gained 60 lbs and have an almost non-functioing sense of pain or sensation on my skin. I am considering changing my medication. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Out of necessity I've also taken Seroquel because, while its not exactly for its purpose, it is one of the major agents that fit into an immense puzzle.

The cholesterol may be due to the Seroquel, but tight shoulders and neck don't sound like typical side effects. EPS usually affects if anything, shaky hands, stiffness is usually peripheral.

Are you taking it for anxiety purposes or for psychosis or BP reasons ?

Anxiety itself can also manifest in a really stiff neck and tight shoulders as I know, although part of that I still believe is due to dropping a fair load of benzodiazepines years ago cold, nonetheless its anxiety provoked.

I'm just offering other possible scenarios and causality/causation for -some- of what you are mentioning.

The weight gain and the other side effects -- well yes, I have a rather major problem with my weight, my cholesterol has raised but is still within range I guess because my diet is vegetarian.

The neurological senses sound like some sort of parasthesias and could also be due to some type of EPS.

I haven't heard the benefits that you've gained from the medication but I'm not denying that you have a pretty fair number of potential side effects. Are the benefits still worth it?

If they aren't and its sounding like it is, then you may have to try a different atypical unless you are using it offlabel, in which case I can't offer a suggestion because there isn't any diagnosis.

-- best wishes
