I guess the most convincing work regarding selegiline is some of the earliest where the lifespan of rodents was extended by it.
- ScottHi Scott,
When I was researching Emsam, I came across a study or studies, suggesting that selegiline was effective in extending the lifespan of rodents.
The only catch, in rodents, it proved to be effective only when dosed in very minute amounts. It was given in liquid form and there was a bell curve where if the rodents were given the "top" of the curve they lived maybe 20% longer, however, when given more than that there was no benefit. A much larger dose, I believe, as is used in A/d's was said to provide no life extending benefit. Hope I'm wrong. I may have those studies if they came with stuff I got on Emsam.~Jade
