If you've previously been exposed to benzodiazepines it might seem slightly subtle, although I found Klonopin even more subtle.

I'd say about two hours generally except for hospital IV use.

Xanax is much quicker acting, and has a short half life, hence possibly a benzodiazepine that may carry a risk of greater habituation than others potentially.
