How to know if depression comes back?

Posted by besserer_komfort on February 4, 2009, at 13:13:51

Hi.

I was on Nardil (90mg) and Keppra (500mg) for approximately 8mths. It worked fine and controlled my depression. I felt normal.

3 weeks ago I decided to stop medication (cold turkey). Reason was I had a new girlfriend, I had problems with sex and wanted to make sure they are not related to the Nardil. (Unfortunately, it turns out, they are not related to the Nardil.)

I felt fine for the first two weeks - only some really small cognitive problems (finding the right word). But now after three weeks I feel whiny, some suicidal ideation and chronical low mood. It becomes worse every day. I fear the beast is coming back.

Question: Should I restart medication immediately or is there a chance this is just temporary? How long should I stay without medication to find out?

Thank you for your answers and best regards,
besserer_komfort
