Hi to all!!!
Can anyone using Marplan give me an update as to how you are doing?
Info like, when you started, how you felt at first vs. how you are feeling now, what improvements you've felt or haven't felt, bad side-effects at first and how long they took to go away. Weight gain? Anyone's experience having trouble losing the weight with a good diet and excercise.
Having extreme GAD and agoraphobia (always feeling impending doom, instead of embracing life) was also wondering if the reason that i don't respond to ssri's (they either make me feel worse or they poop out after just a couple of months) is because maoi's target a different chemical or part of the brain that ssri's don't.
Have gone without any meds, except zanax since Jan. 12. Days are beginning to get rougher and i don't see my pdoc for the marplan until Feb. 5th. Could feeling like sh*t be because of possibe residual withdrawals.
I have read that ssri's after long term use can actually make conditions worse somewhat. Was thinking maybe trying to detox and get all of these previous meds out of my system and see how I feel, maybe I could pull myself out of this on my own. Not real clear on how long that would take. Has anyone else tried to come off of all meds just to see what would happen?
Could anyone recommend a good detox and cleansing routine?
I know it sounds dangerous, but ssri's can take quite a while for some people to get it out of their systems. To risky or maybe worth a shot?
I don't know, but maybe marplan might be a good choice, but i am scared enough now about all meds that I have taken in the past and I am desperate for something to work and am worried about what to do as marplan seems like a good alternative, but what if it doesn't work also. Am willing to go through initial side effects, if i felt some reassurance that it might actually work. Am just worn out with all of the ssri's awful effects both going on the med and coming off. Seroquel, Remeron and trazodone didn't agree with me either.
Anybody having a good response with baclofen for sleep as the above mentioned meds did not help me with sleep at all. Never was able to get into a deep sleep with any of them, just gave me very scary and vivid dreams and was totally nauseus and felt hung over the next day. I am taking 2 mgs of zanax at night for sleep. Always used lower dosages of zanax for tweeking anxiety during the day, but didn't want to become dependent on it for sleep. If the Marpaln works, am hoping to be able to ween back down off of zanax.
Any advice would be extremely appreciate.
Thanks,
Courtney
