> Hi,
> I recently started taking Vyanse after taking Focalin xr. In the past Adderall stopped working for me and thats why I switched. At first Vyvanse did nothing and I actually felt like sitting on the couch. One day I thought it wasn't working so I took 5mg of my short acting focalin. It was amazing, that little bit of focalin made the Vyvanse work and it lasted all day. I hope someone out there would be able to tell what is going on with me because I defintetly can't tell my doc.Gosh - You came up with one hell of a combination. Very nice. Vyvanse (lisdexamfetamine) is sort of a slow-release d-amphetamine. Technically, it is called a prodrug. The body converts it to d-amphetamine. You are basically combining Dexedrine with Ritalin. The Dexedrine releases dopamine from the neuron and the Ritalin prevents it from being brought back in for recycling. This produces what is know as a synergistic effect. It is as if 1+1=10.
I haven't a clue how you might want to introduce your behavior to your doctor. However, Dexedrine and Ritalin are combined quite often to treat ADD / ADHD.
