SNRIs and Blood Pressure

Posted by Four Feathers on January 2, 2009, at 11:26:37

I have been taking 60mg Cymbalta for the last 6 weeks and have noticed significant improvements in my physiological symptoms of depression/anxiety(racing heart, headaches, peripheral body calmness, etc). However, I have been monitoring my blood pressure and it is now up to about 138/88. While this is not seriously high, I am currently taking 10mg of lisinopril which is obviously not enough to keep this in check. I seem to derive the most positive effects from NE affecting drugs. However, many of these tend to increase my blood pressure. I had taken beta blockers (Atenolol) for a number of years and these cause cognitive clouding. I am looking for other options that will allow me to continue taking NE affecting meds and prevent the increased blood pressure. Would a blood pressure med such as Clonidine or Tenex be a potential solution? Any ideas are appreciated.
