The talking for at least 45 minutes is what generally happens with a psychotherapist, not with a psychopharmacologist. My doctor is unusual, he starts with a two hour session to get ALL the history he can. After that, though, it's 30 minutes of chat and med check, nothing more.

If that's all the therapists you've seen have offered, then you might want to find a different sort of therapist. You've never answered when I've asked what sort of therapist you've been seeing? Is this pastoral counseling? Counseling center at school? A PhD? MFT? LCSW? CBT based, or psychodynamic, or interpersonal?
