I just wanted to pose this as thought to ponder.
Name off all the psych meds you can think of. I have tried probably 90% of them. Most caused me deterioration from baseline, or were intolerable, or just didn't do much. ECT failure also.
Now, I had momentary moments of complete remission on the following meds. Keep in mind, none of them are psychiatric. It just goes to show, other things do affect mood.
Doxycycline: Antibiotic effective against a wide range of resistant bacterias including Lyme. It is also a strong anti-inflammatory.
DMSA: A chelation med to remove lead and mercury from your system.
Dr. Clarkia tincture: A mix of three plants designed to kill parasites and some microbes.
And I've had three different doctors make their judgements. They all said it sounds like there is metal toxicity and some kind of infection causing my problems. Exactly how to do a more detailed diagnosis is difficult, and treatment is just as much of a guessing game as psychiatry. My immediate goal is to see an LLMD (Lyme Literate MD). I suspect an LLMD or an infectious agent MD will probably do me more good than another (8th?) psychiatrist.
Doxycycline was a powerful clue to me that things wrong in the body affect your mind more powerful than a tank.
I had much more powerful responses to those than any psych med. What does that mean? Again, just something to ponder.
