Well, first I'd like to say it's very kind and compassionate of you to be wanting to help your girlfriend so much. gee-- had I had such support, I might be much better off at present.
anyway, I've been diagnosed with PTSD-complex(from childhood and early adult traumas), amongst several other things.... I took Celexa a few years ago but didn't give it much chance as I quit after 5 months. Then just recently pdoc recommended Lexapro. Wow!! I was so so tired at first.... but that got a bit better as time went on,(a couple weeks) though I still lack energy often, just not as sleepy. I've been on it for ummm... 8 months-- gee time sure has flown! anyway, I did feel less hypervigilent which was nice-- not feeling so jumpy and letting things go that would have bothered me-- BUT and it's a big but!!--- I don't like the weight gain. Oh, people will say-- "What weight gain?"-- but I notice it and I'm not going down that road. I reduced my mg. intake after I'd gained 5 pounds and now I'm more stable in the weight area again-- I like that better.
the "vacation" from paranoia and hypervigilence is nice-- maybe it will work this way for her too. I still get paranoid and such-- just NOT to the degree I was in the past.
Hey if you or her want to converse more you are welcome to PM me anytime.
good luck,
flutterby-mandy
