When at the psych hospital the nurse practitioner there changed my meds to Abilify and Cymbalta, both of which were new to me. The Abilify gave me a terrible restless feeling, but I didn't have the extra physical movement. I later asked my psychiatrist if the terrible restless feeling could still be akathisia when not also having extra physical movement, and he said yes. I guess some may disagree with that definition. Anyways, if I recall correctly, my terrible restless feeling went right away when I stopped the med.
I don't know if this says anything else relevant, but I didn't have any trouble tapering off of SSRIs nor Effexor or Cymbalta, when I've read here about some people's really different stories.
