Celexa vs. Lexapro

Posted by crazybeautiful on November 16, 2008, at 11:47:39

I'm sure there's been plenty of discussion about this before, but I have to ask because I'm debating on what to do today.

I know a lot of drugs lose their potency after expiration, but I've heard some can intensify & become more potent. I just took my first 20mg Celexa about 13 hrs ago & my serotonin levels are still through the roof, like I'm on ecstacy or something. I was on 10mg Lexapro (supposed to be equivalent to 20mg of Celexa) a while back & it did the same thing at first, but not as much & it didn't last as long. Do you think this drug has intensified? Is that possible? Has anyone else felt that Celexa was stronger than Lexapro? or am I just experiencing an overload of serotonin? I know about the serotonin syndrome. I've been monitoring myself, but haven't had any of the "scary" effects. I'm thinking about skipping both meds today (Wellbutrin & Celexa) & trying my Wellbutrin with 10mg of Celexa instead of 20mg tomorrow. Anyone?
