I can only imagine in the scientific field over the past couple centuries that numerous problems that have since been overcome were once thought to be impossible to fix. To say their will never be a cure is a little hard for me to accept. We know a lot about the brain and are learning at a fast pace, but the truth is the field is in its infancy. It may not be for decades or a century to come, but depression, and other afflictions which cause one mental discomfort, will one day be a thing of the past. With genetic mapping, I believe certain genes will show themselves to be markers for depression and the like. One day manipulation of said problem genes will be nothing more than visiting the doctors office.
