Do not try this; very dangerous

Posted by chinooktoe on October 26, 2008, at 1:08:29

DO NOT DO WHAT MY FRIEND DID: I have a friend who had clinical depression for many years, tried many meds, without much success. XXX. However, he must have had a mutation for a wooden head because what he did was very dangerous, and his reckless experiment must never be tried by anyone except under stringently safe Government controlled conditions at Universities by the most intelligent people who have been through years of rigorous education. Do not try this, but my friend XXX. He says he felt XXX. Then he XXX, watched an episode of Spongebob Squarepants, talked with his wife, and went to bed. The next morning, he says he felt "different", kind of shaky, but maybe better in some vague way. On the way to work, he turned on the radio, unusual for him. He enjoyed some heavy metal tunes, unusual for a guy who is over the hill. He kidded some people at work, quite uncharacteristic of this eeyore. He slowly began to realize that he was not feeling depressed anymore. He got irritated at some things, which was also unusual for him. He yelled at somebody who was bugging him, and then felt better about that situation. That rarely happened to him. He repeated his bizarre "charging" ritual every evening. And he was never depressed again. Giddy, angry, sad, happy, irritated, joyful, ditzy, yes, but not the grey suffocation of depression. Of course, I do not believe him. I suspect he had suddenly started taking illegal street drugs. XXX. I am sure that if such a simple treatment for chronically depressed people existed, some big corporation would have patented it and marketed it aggressively. Besides, it is so simple and obvious, thousands of gravely depressed people would have at least given it a shot by now. Pharmaceutical companies would be thrilled to encourage a dirt cheap non-medicinal cure, for the good of their customers health and pocketbooks. Thank God the FDA and Big Pharma is there to protect us from such dangerous voodoo "treatments". Just because one or two people, probably with brains rotted by illegal drugs anyway, say their depression has disappeared thanks to XXX, is no reason to dare to try this on yourself, no matter how much depression has sucked away your pitiful "life". Go to your Doctor, try another medication, try several medications at once, keep trying the medications, the Medical Community would never ignore a simple cheap safe treatment, they would never let you suffer and waste your life away unless a life threatening Danger lurked in XXX. Look at how safe the Financial Community has kept our economy! Big Medicine and Big Money is our best friend. It is far safer to be be put into a semicoma by general anesthesia, have your voluntary muscles deactivated by another drug, and then have 5000 volts repeatedly blasted across your frontal cortex by ECT until your brain has a total grand mal seizure than to get XXX. Listen to the Medical Community. Do not question It. Stay safe at all costs. Don't try anything yourself just because you "heard about it on the Web". There is no alternative but medications, ECT, medications, ECT, medications, ECT, medications, ECT, medications, ECT, medications, ECT, medica. . . . . . . . . . . .
