Don't be afraid to increase the dose if you think that would help:

I know how you feel. I feel the same way about the initial mood-boosting effects of dextroamphetamine. Finally a solution. I'm doing very well.

Yeah, I experienced this while I tried Daytrana. Covering the patch in medical tape seemed to help.
>How did you go about talking to your Dr. about the combo.?
I currently order my memantine from a pharmacy, but am planning to look into a doctor to prescribe it and take over my other prescriptions as well. It may take some time, but I bet I would have luck with someone who specializes in treating treatment-resistant patients. This use of memantine is highly experimental -- I think one avenue that might work is to suggest the memantine as an antidepressant, for which there are a few successful studies you can look up. IIRC the successful antidepressant dose of memantine was 40mg. The posts here may even be good to show, depending on your doctor.

Ayep.

Eric M. WagnerGood luck to you too Eric. I think the memantine is worth a try for someone who finds that the early mood-boost from psychostimulants is great for them, but disappears quickly due to tolerance unless they raise the dose. The memantine has allowed me to keep my dose completely stable. I would recommend anyone interested to search for the posts of andrewb, for instance:
