Dexedrine has stopped working

Posted by zarathustra on August 28, 2008, at 17:34:03

I have been on Dexedrine for 6 months, originally it was prescribed @ 5mg TID. I now take 15mg BID, and it seems to be doing absolutely nothing, the original positive effects on focus and concentration have subsided. Even the side-effect of appetite supression has stopped. I can even fall asleep now an hour after taking it if I choose. I did an experiment and took 30mgs at once, and the same; absolutely nothing. I might as well have taken a vitamin instead.
Is this simply a case of tolerance? or has my brain somehow changed? Should I just forget about Dexedrine? Switch to Adderall?
I dont want to be increasing my dose to addictive or dangerous amounts, however this medicine was very effective at one point for ADD.

Please help.
Andrew
