Phelps stopped his meds, as a kid, at least that I heard when it was mentioned he had ADHD. So his performance today is based on a drug free life. They test for all that stuff anyway and no athlete wouldever risk testing positive.
Probably many of the kids on meds don't have to be, just like many on AD's don't have to be. You just have to find out what helps you deal with your anxiety, stress, depression, etc. Many more realistic solutions, such as exercise, can help as much as medication can.
