You're a mind reader as I too have a tolerance now to valium and was given a script for xanax and wondered if it work better. A med that is a year old should work as I've taken them older than that. Did you ask you pdoc about tolerance as they worked fine for me for over 35 years last two is the tolerance issue. Thanks for asking this question. Phillipa
