Brain Zap, Shiver..Can an SSRI actually cause this

I have tried a few SSRI's in the past, and none of them have helped my anxiety, so I would go off one and on to another. I've been on Zoloft 50mg for a few months now and I'm getting the Brain Zaps daily on and off.
I know this is common when coming off of an SSRI, but can this occur as a result of being on one ?
