I never took Emsam, only Eldepryl (pill form of selegiline, was FDA-approved for Parkinson's before Emsam was around), so I'm not sure how much alike they are. Eldepryl was, for me anyway, the most stimulating of the four, and it made me rather anxious. I had some BP problems with Parnate but I solved that by switching to taking it in divided doses of no more than 20mg at a time. Nardil and Marplan are both hydrazine-type MAOIs and I found that they both caused a lot of weight gain. Also Nardil pooped out after a few months and my depression got a lot worse. Selegiline, OTOH, gave me problems with anxiety.
