I think Dr. Bob tries to do the best he can with this site to allow posters wide latitude to be able to help each other. But in some areas, he finds he has to draw boundaries, and exchanging information about sharing medications prescribed for you with others, (which BTW, depending on the specific drug and jurisdiction involved, can be illegal in the U.S.) is one of those areas. He is, after all, a licensed MD and has to observe certain legal and ethical rules. For example, he could conceivably be held partly liable if something bad happened to a poster that received a med from another poster, facilitated by the Psycho-Babble website.
Also, I have never asked him specifically, but I'd imagine the other, more important reason to enforce this guideline is motivated by Dr. Bob's concern for posters' health and safety. He'd rather encourage 100% legal methods of obtaining meds (your own doctor's prescription) and discourage other methods - better safe than sorry, etc.
Hope that makes some sense, and that you can find other ways to support and help fellow posters.
