I don't think an individual person can "know" if anything will work unless enough time is given at an *effective dose*. The first few weeks of an anti-dep is an adjustment and transition time. And before you ask, I do not think the showing or the not showing of side effects in the beginning predicts anything in terms of how effective or ineffective the drug may be.
I also believe that if one is totally and completely convinced nothing will work in terms of drugs, nothing will work in terms of drugs. Drugs can be very effective but they can't fight an immoveable set belief, in my opinion.
