Cheryl-Lynn and paddo
I have been on Parnate for over a year now, and it is the only anti-depressant that has worked for me. I take 40 mg. per day, and as Justherself54 said, the main thing is to adhere to the dietary restrictions. I still eat pizza as it does not typically have aged cheese, for example. I drink white wine if I go out to eat rather than red wine or beer. I loved some foods that I can't eat, but so it is.
I took Parnate many years ago too, for about five years, and it worked wonders for me. As an added benefit, I lost weight and am losing weight again. It has amphetamine like qualities and so keeps me alert too. I feel like I have more energy and so do more and so lose weight.
I was able to go off of Parnate years ago and was on no antidepressant for around 10 years or more. Then some stuff came up, and I ended up getting depressed again, and so back to the Parnate. I am also in therapy, though, three times per week, and the combo is what does the job for me.
