Desoxyn may be methamphetamine hydrochloride but the addiction properties you speak of only refer to high doses. I'd have to swallow an entire bottle of Desoxyn to even come close to Meth. To call Desoxyn dangerous is completely ridiculous. All pharmaceulticals are dangerous when abused. Adderall is an amphetamine as well and has plenty of abuse potential. So does Ritilin. You can crush up Zoloft and snort it if you want. Parnate is essentially amphetamine. Selegiline breaks down into amphetamine metabolites. Prozac was designed to mimic cocaine. Barry Bonds used to take Nardil to gain weight, as did his entire Arizona college baseball team;; it also increased his perceived strength and relieved his tension at homeplate.
I never found Desoxyn remotely addictive. There's a dose that works and any higher just caused problems. Kept it at low doses of 5 -10 mg per day and that treated my depression sufficiently as well as my anxiety.
Frankly Klonopin and benzos are the scary drugs!!. Not only do they make you dumb as bricks but they are truly addictive. It was nearly impossible for me to withdrawl from them and I was only on .75 mg of Klonopin/ day...and talk about abuse potential!!!When I stopped Desoxyn, I simply stopped and noticed only some slight depression for two days which quickly dissipated.Stimulants have been around since the 1940's and the long term effects of low-dose usage is known to be safe. The long term effects(some speculate neurotoxic which can be delt with through supplementation but others say it prevents Alzheimer's and Prakinsons so who knows?) are minimal compared to novel medications which not only rewire your brain circuitry but also mess with your body chemistry. Metabolic Syndrome? Diabetes? I've never been then same since Abilify ,Lamictal and Zyprexa. And my doctor just told me about a recent study that shows Seroquel causes permanent damage to the endocrine system. Those are the drugs I would stay clear of. They might have low abuse potential but they defenitely cause permanent damage. They're dangerous. So please, spare me the Desoxyn is crystal meth routine. I've heard it all before. It's unproductive and clearly reveals your limited understanding of stimulant medications and neurochemistry for that matter.
