Elavil (Amitriptyline) for anxiety, anyone??

Hi everyone

Went to see my psychiatrist today and he gave me a prescription for Amitriptyline (Elavil) for my severe anxiety. I've pretty much tried all the other SSRIs, atypical antipsychotics as wll as the odd benzodiazepine - all with little success.

I just wondered if anyone has had any success with Amitripyline/Elavil for severe anxiety (mainly Generalized Anxiety Disorder and panic disorder)??
