Feeling whacked-out on Nardil at the beginning of treatment is normal and may even be a sign of good things happening. My advice is to try Nardil, starting at 1/2 pill per day and move up to 1 pill after a week. You can then move up by 15mg every week until you get to 60mg. Go slower if necessary. Once you establish 60mg as your target, remain there for at least 3 weeks and assess clinical benefit and side effects. Go to 75mg if necessary and remain there for 6 weeks. If necessary, and if you are tolerating the drug, you might find that you don't hit pay dirt until you reach 90mg.Once the true antidepressant effect emerges, you will probably find that your cognitive function will improve far beyond where it is now.
