That doesn't mean you're in the 25% category, as you said you're taking a low dose. What is most important is the MED, the minimum effective dose, although I'm curious why he didnt give a prescription for Risperdal at that low dose, but I'm not going to second guess your doctor.Yes, movement symptoms can affect anyone -- which is why people are migrating to using atypicals -- and then there's the whole CATIE argument (a bit long for here, you would have to look it up -- basically saying that there isn't a difference in effectiveness, true --- but side effects of atypicals are more humane in my opinion for a lot of patients).
In the short run if you haven't taken a lot of antipsychotics, Haldol at that range -- I'm not a soothsayer, I wish I had one for all my symptoms :(, shouldn't be a long term problem but you may experience EPS (side effects -- yes, the restlessness, akathisia) after a while which can be addressed with other medications. It will probably make you very sleepy at first.
