In reply to seizures when taking seroquel :(, posted by Jeroen on May 16, 2008, at 16:57:16
Hi Jeroen,
When you described this recently, it sounded to me to be more like vertigo or fainting rather than a seizure. And in fact, dizziness, fainting, and severe hypotension (low blood pressure) and orthostatic hypotension (low blood pressure due to body position changes as in going from sitting to standing, etc.) are all reported side effects of seroquel. Seizures are also a reported effect, though it's listed as a rare one. Is it possible that your blood pressure is going quite low or that you are experiencing dizziness and/or fainting? Hopefully that's the case rather than the rare side effect of seizures, as any of the above, though distressing, are less serious in nature than a seizure.I got this info from my pda version of Epocrates.
Hope this helps.
