Whoo Hoo! ATMlady in the house! Yes, I took Trivatal for about 3 weeks during last winter and it was, well, blah. I was coming off wellbutrin and switched directly to the trivastal. I experienced some increase in pleasurable feelings such as being emotionally thrilled (to the point of physical reactions) to songs on the radio. I slept really well, taking naps during the day, with GREAT dreams. But that could have been from coming of the mega-dose of wellbutrin the pdoc had me on, I discontinued the trivastal for two reasons:

1. I got in a shipment of provigil I had ordered. provigil being a dopamine re-uptake inhibitor as opposed to trivastal, which is a dopamine agonist. eems like they'd kinda have the same effect but NO! The Provigil was much more what I needed for MY depression.

2. I had noticed, and only because I had been watching out for "compulsive behaviors" as that is a risk of dopamine agonists, that I ate carbs to the extreme while on trivastal. And I was seeking out restaurants that I loved more and more. Because things just tasted so much better, I think. So one night, superbowl sunday as a matte of fact, I was drinking wine as I like to, but drank way too much, as I was starting to do while taking trivastal, and spilled wine all over my laptop and paid $500 to get it fixed. So it's a good thing I got the provigil in the mail!

I haven't posted before about the weird cravings because I never really experienced them as cravings at the time. It's still very mysterious to me. I remember reading about the people taking Mirapex who suddenly started having affairs or gambling and I'm like, yeah, right. But I watched my own behavior change without consciously changing it and I can now see how it happens. I start taking Trivastal and next thing I know the Indian buffet I go to about 4 times a year I have visited 4 times this month and I wonder ... why? I had the urge to go there and I went. But why did I have the urge when usually I wouldn't, at least that often? Because MAN IT IS SO GOOD!!!!! But Indian food is just the tip of the iceberg with me. Because with Trivastal I was buying Doritos and all the salty stuff I love so much, that usually, I am able to keep to moderation.

So anyway, just watch out with those dopamine agonists is all I can say. There's probably many a good reason to take them, but if it's depression you're treating, consider a dopamine re-uptake inhibitor over an agonist is my advice.
