Wellbutrin 150 or 300 -not so much long but chatty

Posted by ncrainbow on May 2, 2008, at 8:00:54

Hey friends,

I am relatively new to the board but have posted my story recently so I will give the short version here. I was on 40mg of Celexa for 8 years for anxiety. It was pretty much in remission after the first year but I didn't want to deal with the withdrawal so I stayed on Celexa for the most part. I had a couple failed attempts at quitting but I came running back when my world started crashing about 30 days after quitting.

I have always run a little on the manic side. I do think a lot of it is just a temperament/cultural thing. I went through my first real depressive episode this year (I am 40 years old.) The depression combined with my naturally "bouncy" mood, led my new pdoc (who I respect a lot) to diagnose me with cyclothymia. We tried lamictal first but I was one of the lucky ones who got the full body rash.

Which brings me to my question...I went off the 40mgs of Celexa in 2 weeks (rapid I know but I was well "protected" with Klonopin) and started on 150 xl of wellbutrin. I see great improvements in my mood as far as being happy, not being weepy, being able to focus at work, being optimistic BUT I am foggy from the klonopin, still having lots of mid morning fatigue, am very bitchy in the morning, and definitely a little on the bouncy side in the evenings with rapid speech and sending a more than a few impulsive and maybe a little too intense emails. I really would like to go to 300 mgs of wellbutrin to see if it would offset the fogginess and the bitchiness.

Have folks who are on the klonopin/wellbutrin mix (or something similar) had more success on 150 or 300 on the welllbutrin xl?

Lastly, is it possible that the bitchiness (by the way, definitely not my normal self) is from the rapid Celexa withdrawal?

On a side note, if we are not allowed to say the word b--chiness on the board, I apologize and will substitute words like cranky and irritable in the future.
