Judging by the prescribing information for each drug, it doesn't appear that Wellbutrin has a higher incidence (only 26% vs. 23% for placebo) of headache than modafinil or methylphenidate, but you may wish to try these for comparison.
Interestingly, I seem to have occasional migraines without headache. More specifically, the symptom is called a scintillating scotoma, which is a flickering region of disturbed vision, starting in the central visual fields and slowly expanding and moving toward the edge to finally disappear:
