Hi
I am into week no. 13 on Remeron. It started as stress in november 2007, then followed 6 weeks of various symptoms such as dizziness, headache, nausea etc.
Then one REALLY bad nightmare around Christmas and then followed a major insomnia problem where I could not sleep at all. I also had a minimum of appetite.
Here is how it has been so far:
week 0-2: slept and ate normally again, dosage 30 mg
week 3-5: suddenly crying attacks, felt really depressed. dosage 45 mg, sleep problems again, had to take ½ sleeping pills too
week 6-8: getting slowly better, having really good days here and there. dosage 52,5 mg
week 9-10: felt constantly great all the time, ate very much. dosage 50-52,5 mg
week 11-13: started to sleep without sleeping pills again, but now mood swings, generally down in the mornings, slowly better after lunch and then good mood at evenings. dosage 50 up to 55 mg since 6 days ago.
So when sleep came back, mood swings started again, strange ehh?Is this the "nature" of a depression? I cannot understand that things are going "the wrong way" this long into the treatment.
Should I try and split the dosage into 45 mg in the evening and 15 mg in the morning? It is very difficult for me to get up in the morning after 55 mg in the evening.
I relly would like to avoid getting another drug into my treatment. All my stress factors are long gone, had a period of not working for 3 months (end nov -> feb), I now work 4-5 hours a day (succesfully), go to both relaxing therapy and a psychologist (and a psychiatrist). I do exercise 2-3 times a week.
What do you think? Experience from others would be highly appreciated, thanks
BR
