We use Nozinan (generic - methotrimeprazine) a fair bit at the institution I work at. (Dont let that scare you off..heh.) It has one of the best reputations of the older antipsychotics because it appears to cause less chances of TD and extrapyramidal effects. Plus it is great for sleep and sedating. We prefer it over many new AP's because a) most don't work as fast and as well and b) doesn't seem to have the blood-glucose problem as with the newer AP's. A lot of our clients are at-risk or overweight from both being sedentary from years/lifetime in institutions, and having large amounts of psychotropic drugs prescribed for most of their lives. (Mostly older onesfrom Valporate to Thorazine, Largactil (chlorpromazine) etc
