They're both similar but Lyrica can be more powerful and useful for some. It can also have more side effects. Neurontin can have diminishing returns over time, but not for everyone. In other words, one has to give both a trial. Basically one can't really go much further on Neurontin because it becomes ineffective after about 600mg each time, for 4 times a day (it just pees out.)
